A post from my dear friend, Janiece Cotrell, who I admire for her skills to make a house a HOME. Check out these quick ideas to get the October feeling!
Do you love when the seasons change? I do! Here in California, we don’t have a much of a change in seasons but, I take what I can get! When the “seasons change” here from Summer to Fall, it’s the perfect weather for shorts and a sweater. I love the crisp mornings…the sunny afternoons and the fall evenings. To start my fall, I love carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds. Here are a couple of pretty and easy ideas.
Roasted Pumpkin seeds
Rinse and remove all pulp, dry on a sheet pan. Set oven to 400 degrees, toss with olive oil and season with sea salt. Roast for about 30 minutes. You can also season with Lawry’s season salt! Yuuum.

Find a vase that is same height as the interior of pumpkin
Fill vase with water and flowers – DONE
Pumpkin with succulents
Carve out pumpkin
Fill with soil. Make sure it’s packed well.
Add succulents and a bit of water
**Note; your pumpkin will last about a week, then it’ time to toss! A great display if you’re having any socially distanced gatherings or just to get a little October feel.
Thanks Janiece!
