For now, the minimalist reign is over. Welcome in a new season of explosive colors and silhouettes. None more noticeable than metallic. Glitzy metallics are no longer for your ostentatious grandma.

The metallic trend has been a strong feature on the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 runway. It popped up way before the start of the holiday season and will continue well after we’ve all wished each other “Happy New Year.”
It was a seasonal standout for designers such as Saint Laurent, Baja East, Michael Kors, Balenciaga, Dolce Gabbana, Rachel Zoe & Tibi just to name a few.
What’s great about these shimmering fabrics is that it can be worn with almost every hue.
Personally, I prefer to pair with neutrals so that “it” takes center stage.
Gold, copper and silver tones bring to mind the word BOLD, which you have to be to pull off this trend, because when you walk into a room, “all-eyes-on-you!”
As for me, I’m thrilled about any trend that speaks my personality, shiny & bright!
Warning: You may not want to dabble in this craze if you are a more muted, low-key type.
However, there are alternatives such as accessories, shoes, boots (I’m partial to the block-heel ankle boots which are the season’s must-have), and even makeup. There is something for everyone to get their fix.
